Tirana, Albania
22 April 2016
According to the Bank of Albania, during the past year foreign investments increased by 11.5%, compared to 2014. The increase of foreign investments came as a result of further investments made by the current foreign companies that operate in Albania.
During 2016, the two largest foreign investments in Albania were the TAP and the establishment of several hydro power plants in southern Albania. The Bank says that foreign investments will be the primary source for the economic growth during 2016.
Currently, the Bank is trying to coordinate the fiscal and monetary policies with the government’s policies in order to attract more foreign investments in the country.
