INSTAT reports that foreign direct investments are increasing in the last months since the import of equipments and machineries from foreign companies have increased. This is an indicator of the increase of production and exports of these companies.
Only during the first four months of 2015 the value of the import of machineries reached ALL 34.1 billion, increasing by 19.2% in comparison to the same period of last year.
Also, figures from the World Bank about the performance of exports and imports of services shows that they comprise about 36% of the Gross Domestic Product. This shows that tourism as the most important service is a very potential sector of the country’s economy, according to experts. The Albania’s economy is supported highly by services, which comprise about 60% of the GDP.
Even the public investments have contributed in the improvement of investments’ performance during this year, given that in the first months of 2015 the value of capital expenditures reached ALL 8.8 billion, increasing by 19% compared to the same period of 2014.
