Foreign Investors Association of Albania has issued a press release to show the stance of the association on the government’s fight against informality, a reform launched in the past weeks which has been followed by bribes and detentions for business owners.

Fighting the informality is the only way to prevent the further increase of the taxes!
Foreign Investors Association of Albania with a considerable presence of 15 years has always been an active Partner of the Government and International Institutions operating in the country.
FIAA stands among the most important players which in cooperation with the Government enables the common goal of making Albania a better environment to invest and operate.
In this frame, FIAA ensures its full support to the latest initiative the Government has undertaken aimed to fight the Informal Economy in Albania. This is a more than welcome step for the Country’s economy that will significantly improve the business environment with evident benefits for the whole population. Moreover FIAA believes that an effective fight against informality is one of the best ways to prevent a further increase of Taxes that would hamper the economic growth.
Fighting the Informal economy is one of the challenges of Albania and has been continuously addressed from the business community as one of the main obstacles in the business environment, recently identified in the FIAA Business Environment 2015 Survey.
Informal Economy and Tax procedures among other obstacles were on top of the list that business community faces in Albania. FIAA is pleased that these issues are now part of the Government’s measures. Moreover, the Tax Procedures issue addressed by FIAA, is also part of the agenda of the Albania Investment Council.
