The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration will start delivering funding granted by the German and Danish governments to farmers in northern mountainous areas in Kuksi, Malesi e Madhe, Dibra and Shkodra during the upcoming days.
According to the Ministry, subventions entitled to farmers in the above-mentioned areas aim at supporting the development of traditional products such as potato in Shishtavec, medicinal herbs in Malesi e Madhe, apples and livestock farming in Dibra, etc. The purpose of this initiative is to build a chain process that includes safe production, collecting and trade of products.
As consequence, a dynamic market will be created. Those subventions, besides encouraging agricultural development, are going to foster the integration of natural resources in authentic agro-tourism systems.
The value of the fund is Euro 13.1 million and Euro 6.5 million out of the total are granted by the German and Danish governments. The other part of the grant sin provided by the Albanian state budget.The grants will be allocated for livestock farms, plantations of medicinal herbs and cultivation of nut trees.
