TIRANA, July 12
As of now, electric power debtor families will pay an instalment of Lek 2,800 every month despite the total amount of the debt that they should pay. The Supervisor Council of the Energy Distribution Network Operator (OSHEE) has adopted some proposals made by the company regarding the families in debt with the energy supplier. They aim at resolving the problem with debtors and at the same time to reduce the monthly amount of money that they should pay. Previously, it was decided that the entire debt was to be paid off in 12 instalments thus, within a year.
Another important change consists of the postponement of the deadline for applying for arrears reduction by 70 percent for all the family debtors that want to pay the debt in one single instalment. They have time to apply until December 31, 2016.
Other categories such as families that are part of social assistance programs and get financial aid or pensioners head of households will pay Lek 1,200 per month until December 31, 2016, meanwhile, the arrears cost will be totally reduced, but only if they pay correctly the instalments.
