TIRANA, July 30
World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in collaboration with the Cornell University and INSEAD, have published a few days ago the annual report titled ‘Global Innovation Index’ (GII) for the year 2019, and Albania is ranked on the 83rd spot out of 129 countries, on a worldwide level. Based on the report, Albania is the least innovative country on a European level, for the year 2019, whereas Switzerland is the most innovative country in Europe. The score for Albania in 2019 is 30.34 on a scale from 0 to 100.
The Global Innovation Index (GII) ranks and breaks down the innovation performance of 129 countries and economies around the world. Its 80 indicators explore a broad vision of innovation, including: political environment, education, infrastructure, business sophistication, knowledge and technology outputs, etc. The GII 2019 special theme analyzes the medical innovation landscape of the next decade, looking at how technological and non-technological medical innovation will transform the delivery of healthcare worldwide. This is the 12th edition of this publication, and since 2011 Switzerland has ranked 1st in GII every year, whereas Israel enters the top 10 for the first time.
