TIRANA, May 7
The European Union Delegation to Albania launched a week of festivities on the occasion of Europe Day that is held every year on May 9th. The feast that celebrates the peace and unity of people in Europe will focus on a journey through Albaniaโs heritage and cultural wonders. The EU Delegations invites all Albanians to be part of the festivities.
“The rich programme, open to the public, offers exhibitions on Albania’s deep European roots, discussions with citizens, conferences on Albania’s EU integration and European cinema nights. All through the week, we will celebrate 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage, showcasing the best Albania has to offer, with bike rides, live music, art installations and even a food fair!” the EU Delegation announced.
A biking tour around Shkodra Lake was the first event. In the meantime, EU Village forums will take place in Dropull, Mat, Mirdita, Patos, and Prrenjas. In the meantime, the night of European cinema will take place in the cities of Vlora, Berat, Gjirokastra, and Belsh. Various movies will be screened during the week. The activities include exhibitions and music events in four cities and a big music program at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, on May 9th at 20.00 hours.
