TIRANA, October 10
Director General of Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, Christian Danielsson, who held an official visit to Albania, attended a meeting with business representatives and discussed the free economic regional area.
This area is part of an initiative agreed at Trieste Summit, and Danielsson assured that the European Union will continue to back this important initiative.
He said that the EU is convinced that the free economic area will have a major potential for economic growth of the Balkan countries. Danielsson added that the free economic area can be translated in more jobs and increased wellbeing and that it helps the region to approach the EU.
He highlighted that the business community is the most important concerning this initiative, and this community will help to identify obstacles.
