The Albanian economy increased by 2.82% in the first trimester of this year compared to the same period of 2014, according to a report issued by the Institute of Statistics. In a press conference, the General Director of INSTAT Gjergj Filipi declared that based on the use of new methodologies in measuring the economic growth in quarterly terms has improved statistics and the processing of data.
The measuring of the economic growth in quarterly terms is made by taking in account the methodology of production and consumption and as Filipi stated “the use of this new methodology makes the new statistics incomparable with the previous ones”.
Based on the figures of the report, the agriculture sector recognized a growth of 1.85% in the frist trimester of 2015 compared to the first trimester of 2014, the “energy, fuel and water” group increased by 7.64%, and the construction sector increased by 1.84%. The report also shows that the financial and insurance activity increased by 13.07% and real estate by 1.23%.
