Economy and Finances Commission approved on Monday two agreements in the road infrastructure sector, loan agreements reached between Albania and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
According to the Commission’s press release the members approved the “Maintenance and road safety based on result” agreement reached with IBRD, considering it as one of the most important so-far projects in the road safety aspect.
The realtor of this loan agreement, Blerina Gjylameti declared at the Commission that the project aims to maintain the conditions of the primary road network such as highways and main roads, and those primary-secondary roads which connect important cities with touristic places.
According to Gjylameti, the project aims to empower the stable and effective practices in the management of the road systems in Albania, in terms of security.
The other draft law approved by the Commission is a loan agreement which foresees the rehabilitation of docks number 7 and 8 of Durresi harbor and announces changes in the financial contract between the government and the IBRD regarding this project. The project aims to improve the service of Port of Durres for citizens and businesses.
