The increase of excise duty on tobacco has been approved by the parliamentary Commission of Economy. According to the new law, the excise duty on tobacco will become 1100 ALL from 900 ALL that it was before, for a 20 cigarettes package. This increase of excise duty according to Socialist Party MP Ervin Koci, will not have a progressive increase in the years to come.
An additional point of this new law relates to the amount of imports. The head of the parliamentary Economy Commission Erion Brace, declared that companies must not increase their imports amounts before the new law is adopted in parliament and this amount must not be higher than 5%, speaking in monthly average terms on imports amount.
The Economy Commission published other amendments on the taxes law. According to the report issued by the Commission, changes have been made in the taxation of domestic and imported bi fuels.
The law amendments will be presented in a parliamentary session where the MPs will vote on their approval.
