TIRANA, June 21
A plantation of avocados, goji berries, pomegranates, and finger lime that will cover an area of 800 hectares will be constructed in Divjaka area. An official decision adopted by the by the government entered into power on Thursday paves the way to the construction of the plantation by Agro Iliria Group. The 30-year contract signed between the official authorities and the company for the symbolic price of €1 consists of an investment of Euro 6.6 million.
According to the government’s decision, some 384 hectares of state-owned land will be transferred to the company that has the status of a strategic investor.
The company operates in the sector of import and export of agricultural products and byproducts. The project foresees that at least 365 jobs will be created during the construction and operation of the plantation. The project was chosen as a strategic investment in April by the Committee for Strategic Investments. Recently, the government adopted several €1 contracts in Saranda, Divjaka, Fier, and Durres areas.
