On June 2nd, the Bank of Albania issued its latest annual report, according to which the improvement of Albania’s trade in the international markets was one of the main contributors to country’s economic growth in 2015.
The report shows the performance of several economic indicators during 2015 and the indicators that contributed to the economic growth. The domestic demand was one of the main components that contributed to the economic growth, by increasing by 1.7% in annual terms. The domestic demand increased slightly during the first semiannual of 2015 but hopped in the third quarter of the year.
According to the Bank, the increase of the domestic demand came as a result of the ease of monetary conditions, the improvement of the confidence index and the increase of investments and the private consumption.
The Bank considered the public investments as one of the main contributors in the increase of the domestic demand by 2.5 points of percentage, during January – September, 2015.
As for this year, the Bank says the domestic demand will have a better performance due to the Bank’s easing monetary policies and other incentives.
