TIRANA, February 9
Albania and Israel are taking into consideration the launch of direct flight route Tirana-Tel Aviv. This topic was discussed by Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Milva Ekonomi during a meeting she with her Israeli counterpart Yariv Levin.
They focused on issues related to cooperation in the tourism sector and especially on ways for launching the non-stop flight route. It is expected to have a major impact on tourist inflow and also it will help to promote Albania in a fast-growing tourism market. Ekonomi invited Levine to attend the Mediterranean Tourism Fair that will be held on April 8-9 in Tirana.
Moreover, Ekonomi met the chairman of an airline company, Joseph Adar and discussed the chances for starting the direct flight route at the beginning of the summer season. Afterwards, she had an interview with Israeli journalist and blogger Shlomo Abramovich focused on Albania as a lesser known tourist destination in Israel.
