TIRANA, June 25
City halls will soon have a new office that is going to address diaspora, migration, and investment opportunities. The Diaspora State Ministry announced on Monday that the Parliament passed additions and changes to the law ‘On Local Governance’.
Based on the new changes to the bill, every municipality in Albania will have a new structure responsible for the diaspora and migration issues. The office will aim to strengthen communication and relationships with the Albanian community abroad.
Moreover, it will provide information and support for citizenship applications. Further on, the office will provide information to the Diaspora community and international citizens on the Albanian law for investments and on responsible institutions for investments.
The offices will establish and maintain links with the Albanian diaspora through events within the country and abroad. The main focus of this law is to strengthen policies on boosting relationships with the diaspora by offering support and promoting the rights of Albanians living abroad.
