During November 2014, bank deposits increased slightly by 0.9% compared to the same period of a year before, announced Bank of Albania. According to the press release issued on bank deposits, BoA declared that credit growth has improved progressively with the increase in deposits, which grew by 400 million ALL during 2014.
Despite this, deposit growth did not make a positive performance, since deposits decreased significantly in the first months of 2014, but it showed signs of recovery at the end of the year. Experts explain that the ratio between loans and deposits remains at low levels, about 58.5%, which indicates that the banking system remains highly liquid and with free reserves to increase lending to the economy.
