The two day official visit of the Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama to Tehran and the signing of two cooperation agreements between Rama and his Israeli counterpart Netanyahu seem to have been decisive for the increase of Israeli investments in Albania. After returning from the visit, the Prime Minister’s office announced that Israeli companies will invest in the water management sector, in oil and gas sectors, in tourism and agriculture sectors.
During 2016, the biggest Israeli investing group in oil and gas field DELEK Group will start investing in Albania. DELEK Group has expressed interest to invest in the oil and gas field and on 2016 will start exploring the Albanian ground for new oil sources. The investment group is also interested to invest in the tourism and agriculture sectors.
According to Prime Minister Rama “the Israeli investments will be mostly focused in the water sector since Israeli companies are champions in this regard”. Rama has considered his two day visit to Israel as a historic moment for Albania – Israeli relations.
