During an official meeting with the Head of Elbasani Municipality, Qazim Sejdini, the Czech ambassador in Albania Branislava Tomasova, has emphasized the willingness to intensify the Albania – Czech collaboration. According to the Czech ambassador, the main focus of a further collaboration may be the refinery field, since many Czech companies have experience in this field.
In turn, the Head of Elbasani Municipality highlighted the good and early relations between Albania and Czech Republic since 55 years before and invited all Czech businessmen to show their interest on Elbasan city.
Asked by the Czech ambassador about the most problematic fields that need investments, the head of Elbasani municipality expressed his concern about the unemployment that still remains at high rates. “We aim to increase the number of new businesses established in city, since this will affect in the decrease of the unemployment and as a result, the economic situation of the city will improve. The most important field to invest in is agriculture”, declared Qazim Sejdini.
“It would be in our interest a visit in Elbasan of a group of Czech investors, to identify the resources and the opportunities this city offers for investments”, said Mr. Sejdini. The head of Elbasani Municipality pointed out the territorial reform that will turn Elbasani into a bigger municipal unit, comprised of 13 communes, a change that will bring a further development of this city.
The Czech Ambassador has welcomed the proposal by adding that time has come to strengthen the collaboration between the two countries.
