TIRANA, October 17
Albania is becoming a point of interest for natural and organic food and tourism. This was stressed by the Ambassador of Cuba to Bulgaria, Pedro Pablo San Jorge, who also covers Albania, during a meeting he held with Albanian Minister of Economy Milva Ekonomi.
Discussions focused on the strengthening of trade and economic relations between Albanian and Cuba.
“The exports of Albanian dairy products, olive oil, honey, and medicinal plants are highly successful in the international market. Thus, in cooperation with the business community, we have to consider the ways that ‘Made in Albania’ products enter the Cuban market,” Minister Ekonomi said.
She also highlighted the need for cultural exchanges between countries through tourism and other sectors. In order to make all this happen, an understanding memorandum on bilateral relations and two other memorandums on cooperation regarding tourism and investments are necessary.
On his part, Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge said that Albanian investments in Cuba are more than welcomed. He also expressed commitment to further cooperation in tourism, especially for attracting investments in marinas and golf courses. The ambassador said that Albanian investments to Cuba may take into consideration the energy sector, given the experience of Albania in the hydro-energetic sector.
In order to make all these possible, it is important to build the necessary infrastructure, which would help to export Albanian products to Cuba.
