Crown Agents, the British company that assists Albanian Customs has published the report on the Albanian Customs performance in the last six months, during the second meeting of the coordination program in Tirana. According to Crown Agents’ report, Albanian Customs made a great performance particularly in the last six months, by increasing revenues, by improving the administrative activitiy and in the fight against corruption and fiscal evasion.
The representative of Crown Agents in Albania, David Smith declared: “We have taken full control in 2373 cases, 1999 of them partial and we have also identified 1187 abusive cases. It is about violation of Customs regime due to lack of knowledge about the law, or legislative changes for which some Customs officials were not aware”.
In turn, the director of Customs, Elisa Spiropali says during September 2014, revenues collected in the Albanian Customs increased by 3 bl ALL, compared to the same period of a year before.
After two campaigns realized for the excise tax and the regime of the temporary allowance of vehicles, the focus of Crown Agents assistance in Albania is the hydrocarbons sector.
