TIRANA, September 6
The Procurement Agency suspended the implementation of the concession contract with Vendeka Bilgi. The verdict was made public on Tuesday. This company ranked first in the bid for the construction, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of Milot-Morina highway.
The decision was taken after the company that ranked second in the bid filed a complaint against the Ministry of Transports at the Public Procurement Commission.
The winner company for the rehabilitation and maintenance of Milot-Morina highway, an important section of Durres-Kukes-Morina highway made a Euro 320 million bid intended for investments. According to the contract, the Albanian state will subsidise it with Euro 5.6 million if the road traffic doesn’t meet the set expectations.
Meanwhile, the company that ranked second made a Euro 217 million bid for investment and required about Euro 4.99 million from the Albanian state. The decision on the contract suspension will stay in force until the complaint is scrutinized by the Public Procurement Commission.
