Albania citizens and construction companies may apply for construction permits online at the e-Albania platform starting from April 20th of this year. The new service offered by the government was approved by the Council of Ministers, based on the “For the approval of the territory development regulation” law.
The one stop shop online service aims to reduce the time and the bureaucracies for requesting and obtaining a construction permit. The novelty comes after the establishment of the new National Business Center which aims to provide several online services regarding the registration or the licensing of businesses, the permits for different commercial activities, ect.
Starting from April 20th, Albanian citizens and companies can apply via the electronic system or by submitting their requests at the National Business Center for construction permits while starting from September 1st of this year, the application for these types of permits will be made only via e-Albania platform.
Such service will be offered by 61 municipalities throughout the country and the Ministry of Economic Development has started to train the administrations of municipalities about this project. According to the regulation, municipalities have the right to review the requests made by applicants for a period of 15 days. If they do not reply to these requests for a period of 10 days, the request is considered as approved.
