TIRANA, April 12
Croatia welcomed on Thursday the 16+1 summit under which China is reaching out to Eastern Europe and Balkan countries. Leaders from 16 European countries and China meet with the aim of strengthening business ties. The summit was held under ‘Building Bridges of Openness, Innovation and Partnership’ motto.
On the other hand, 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and China. In the frame of this anniversary, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama proposed the removal of visa requirements for Albanian and Chinese citizens. According to Rama, such movement would boost cooperation on tourism and trade.
On his part, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said that Albania-China relations are at an important stage of development. He also noted that China welcomes Albania to expand its export of specialty agricultural products, such as honey, olive oil, and wine.
China and Albania should enhance communication to reach an agreement on mutual exemption of visas between the two countries, facilitate youth exchanges and consolidate public support for the development of bilateral relations, Xinhuanet.com quoted Premier Li as saying.
