TIRANA, November 30
The construction of the Blue Corridor is a key project that Albania is negotiating with Chinese company Pacific Construction while other projects in the banking sector, aviation and tourism are being taken into consideration, the Albanian section of China Radio International (CRI) reported on Wednesday. “The Blue Corridor that connects Albania to the neighbor countries and that runs through our beautiful coastline is a key project that is being negotiated and we hope for a close and positive conclusion. Other investment initiatives in Albania and neighbor countries are being taken into consideration,” CRI quoted Belortaja as saying.
Moreover, he praised the friendship between both countries and the active participation of Albania in 16+1 initiative and ‘One Belt, One Road’.
“China represents our second trade and investment partner. The 16+1 mechanism and the visionary initiative ‘One Belt, One Road’ offer major motivating platforms on our cooperation through projects of common interest,” the Albanian Ambassador said.
Further on, he added that activity of Chinese companies in Albania expanded in strategic sectors such as mining, air transport, and oil while land transport and the banking sector are taken into consideration.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Albania, Montenegro, and Pacific Construction was signed by Premier Edi Rama in November 2015 during the “16+1” economic summit in Suzhou, China.
