Maritime trade exchange through Durres Port, the largest in Albania, increased during the first nine months of 2017.Maritime trade volume increased especially with Italy, Russia, and Turkey. More than 2.1 million tons of good were traded from Durres port to more than 63 different seaports in the Mediterranean region, in the United States, China, and Brazil during the above-mentioned period of time.
Italy and Russia account respectively for 21percent of the volume of goods traded via Durres port. The list also includes Turkey, Malta, Greece, China, Egypt, Spain, Germany, the US, and Turkmenistan.
Moreover, the cargo ships that carried goods from or to Durres transported goods from and two 63 major seaports mostly located in Turkey and Italy. The port has an annual container volume of 66,000 TEU.
