Business Community Calls on Politicians to Adopt Justice Reform

TIRANA, July 20

The Albanian business community appealed on Wednesday to all political parties to adopt the justice reform, which is considered a big step that will provide stability in the country. The appeal addressed to the political class was made during a press conference attended by representatives of domestic business organizations.
Chair of Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nikolin Jaka highlighted the justice reform has vital importance for Albania.
“Hence, we call on the Albanian political class to adopt the constitutional draft, which we have been looking forward, during Thursday’s Parliamentary session.
On her part, chair of the Union of Commerce Chambers Ines Mucostepa declared that entrepreneurship needs this reform, which is more than welcomed by the business sector.
“Entrepreneurs are seeking for absent justice in courts. We gathered here to say ‘enough’ to a corrupted system of justice. This reform is essential and without it, no other economic reform that was or will be taken in the future is going to bring the economic sustainability that entrepreneurship requires,” Mucostepa stated.
Meanwhile, the chair of Biznes Albania, Luan Bregasi declared that the adoption of the justice reform will boost credibility thus increase foreign investments. According to him, failure to adopt the justice reform would be a failure for the Albanian economy and business sector.

Further on, the Executive Director at American Chamber of Commerce in Albania, Lorenc Gjoni joined the appeal to the political class. Meanwhile, he highlighted that it will serve to the private sector and for the establishment of a safer business climate. Therefore, juridical safety for Albanian and foreign investors will increase.
