The ferry line that connected the northwestern port of Shengjin with the city of Brindisi in southern Italy will start functioning after eight years of interruption.
The Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported on Monday that according to sources from the Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure an investment estimated of Lek 26 million from the state budget was allocated for the construction of the port’s entrance.
According to the same sources, the construction of the port of yachts, an Austrian-Slovenian investment, will start soon.
“It is aimed at launching even the ferry line Bari-Shengjin within this tourism season. It will help to turn Shengjin into an important port, not only for cargo, but also for passengers,” ATA quoted its sources as saying.
