TIRANA, August 3
Governor of the Bank of Albania (BoA) Gent Sejko confirmed during press statement he held on Wednesday that the Supervisory Council will keep the key rate for Lek unchanged at the level of 1.25 percent.
According to Sejko, economic growth is expected to have a positive impact while the monetary policy will stimulate bank lending.
βThe Albanian economy is following a steady trajectory of growth while the price index increased by 1.2 percent in the end of June,β Governor Sejko said.
Further on, he added that based on the data provided by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), economic growth for the first quarter of 2016 was 2.96 percent.
