TIRANA, July 14
The banking sector in Albania during 2015 contributed with Euro 1.1million for activities related to sustainable social and economic development while about Euro 200,000 were given for art, culture and sport. These are the data from the report issued by the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) on corporate social responsibility. During the activity held on this occasion, Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Milva Ekonomi applauded the initiative of the banking sector. She said that this can serve as an example for small businesses. Moreover, she mentioned the action plan drafted by the government that helps to orientate businesses toward social responsibility.
On her part, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania (BoA) Natasha Ahmetaj said that social responsibility is now part of banksβ policies and the fund that they provide are no longer considered occasional charity initiatives.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Tirana Brunilda Paskali stressed that all actors should cooperate in order to provide the best implementation of policies related to social responsibility.
