Bank of Albania has published its Medium Term Development Strategy for 2016-2018 by which the Bank lists its strategic objectives that mainly consist in the maintenance of the prices stability in accordance with the objective set for the level of inflation and the increase of confidence among consumers regarding the stability of prices and the Albanian currency. Three of the Bank’s most important strategic objectives for 2016-2018 are:
The strengthening of the financial stability
Bank of Albania will work in compiling a full framework of the macro prudential policies which will identify the medium term objectives of the Bank in this aspect and the instruments that will be used in implementing such policies. The Bank will also work in consolidating the current used methods for the evaluation of the systematic risk.
The strengthening of the banking surveillance
This objective foresees that the Bank must ensure a healthy financial system which will be trustable by the public and will create opportunities for a stable economic growth and a financial stability in general terms.
The strengthening of financial markets’ security and efficiency
According to the Medium Term Development Strategy, Bank of Albania will increase efforts in improving the security and the efficiency of financial markets in order to guarantee stability and safe circulation of money at low costs.
