The foreign-exchange reserves reached the value of EUR 2,192.34 million at the end of December 2014, increasing by 8% in annual terms, announced the Bank of Albania.
According to the bank, there are several factors that affected in the increase of foreign-exchange reserves, mostly the actions related to the activity of the Ministry of Finances and the actions of second-tier banks and other subjects.
The actions related to the activities of the Ministry of Finances have increased the amount of foreign-exchange reserves by EUR 124.30 million in total, incomes brought from the net inflows from Bank of Albaniaโs foreign actions and from the allocation of loans from the IMF and the International Agency for Development, ect. While, the actions of the second tier banks have caused a negative effect at the amount of EUR 51.17 million from net outputs, transfers, ect.
Trade factors have had a positive effect of EUR 71.54 million to the foreign-exchange reserves while the fluctuations in the currency exchange of currencies composing the foreign reserve by EUR 80.25 million.
