Bank of Albania announced the issuing of new Albanian currency at a nominal value of 1 ALL and 10 ALL, on December 1st, 2014. These coins have been emitted on 2013, pursuant to the law “For the Bank of Albania” which took effect on January 17th, 2013.
According to Bank of Albania press release, the new metallic coin of 1 ALL has the same weight, visage and composition to the 1 ALL coin emitted in 2008. The only change illustrated in the coin will be the emitting year, which will be “2013”. Even the new metallic coin of 10 ALL will have the same composition and visage as the previous 10 ALL coin emitted on 2009.
Starting by December 1st 2014, 1 ALL and 10 ALL Albanian coins will be issued in circulation by Bank of Albania in order to be used for payments as all other metallic coins, currently being in use in Albania.
