On November 28th, the Albanian Association of Banks organized the fourth edition of “Safe banks, protected clients” annual forum, in cooperation with the Association’s Committees for the Safety of Information and the Banking Security.
The forum was attended by representatives of second tier banks that currently operate in Albania and Kosovo, officials from the Bank of Albania and the General Directory of State Police, the Albanian National Agency for Cyber Security and representatives of companies that offer services and products in the security field as Deloitte, PWC, INFIGO, Coin Systems, ect.
At the forum, the participants discussed on the latest development in the field of physical and banking information security, by stressing that the safety of banks’ clients is one of the main objectives of the banking system.
During the first session, the participants discussed on the information security and presented the latest trends in this regard, the challenges the institutions currently face and the regulations that protect institutions and citizens. Private companies presented solution alternatives in cases of information leakage.
Issues related to the physical security were discussed during the second session, and representatives of banks in Albania and Kosovo presented reports and statistics on the physical and cyber attacks on private banks.
One of the main conclusions of the forum was the necessity of cooperation between all the actors of the field. The annual forum on Physical and Cyber Security of Banks is an important medium where actors of the field discuss, exchange ideas and promote solutions.
