American Chamber of Commerce in Tirana has made an appeal to the government to postpone the entering in force of VAT new scheme. According to their statement, VAT tax needs a deeper analysis in order to know more its regulations and actors which will be affected by it.
In a press release, American Chamber of Commerce declared: “The new law on VAT obliges the Ministry of Finances to approve the relevant instructions no later than four months since the law is published in the Official Bulletin. VAT law published on August 13 in 2014 and the regulations should have been approved no later than in December 13, 2014, but the law has not been approved yet.”
ACC argues that government can postpone the implementation of new VAT law since it has not been approved yet by the Ministry of Finances Instruction, the last link to fully implement the law and clarify many schemes and specific procedures VAT law contains. American Chamber of Commerce praised the so far cooperation between the government and this institution and the positive will government has shown in discussing on several issues.
