After several TVs made public a ‘scandal’ about Lufra company for the use of powder milk in milk products, such news was disproved by the Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti in a press conference.
The Minister underlined that only state certified institutions are capable and authorized to confirm the food safety in country and abusive cases. False information aimed to damage a company’s name should not be considered as real and “Lufra” products do not present danger to the consumers, he added.
“We decided to make analysis of “Lufra” products after the information published in media and the results for presence of powder milk were negative. The fact that in company’s warehouses has been found powder milk, this does not imply the company in using this product as a replacement of fresh milk. There is nothing wrong with this because the import in powder milk is allowed. My purpose is not to make a “show” but if I had Lufra milk in front of me, I would definitely buy it,” declared Panariti.
The Minister appealed to media to not publish false information before having the official results by certified institutions in these cases. “Lufra” company was accused several days ago for the use of powder milk in producing milk products after in company’s headquarters was found 1350 undeclared powder milk.
