In the first six months of the year, the state oil company Albpetrol has increased the financial contribution to the Albanian state budget by 1.2 billion, 63% more than the same period during last year. Official statistics show that since September of last year, oil production from Albpetrol has increased by 41%. From 80.5 tonnes produced in September 2013, currently the company produces 127.2 tons of oil per day. Also, the number of active wells that are being used by this company has increased. In October 2013 Albpetrol had 786 active wells, and today it has 874 active oil wells, about 100 active wells more.
Meanwhile, the company has completed restructuring itself, going from 2,894 employees in October 2013, from 1,950 employees that was on 30 June 2014. Within 300 days have returned to work about 500 old oil specialists, who were unjustly dismissed from work only because of their political beliefs.
Within first 300 days after the SP party won the elections, the study structures of the company have revamped and important projects such the one of Dumre are activated by Albpetrol. The new fiscal package, entered into force on 1 January, as well as the close cooperation with Albpetrol, has brought duplication of payments made by companies of Petroleum Agreements to state budget.
Also, Albpetrol has significantly reduced the debt owned to Petroleum Agreements companies. From 67,606 tons of oil, the debt in 2013, today’s debt figures 8241 tonnes of oil, it decreased by 59,365 tons.
