TIRANA, January 15
According to Forbes, the preferences of the Chinese tourist for experiences, spending, and accommodations will reshape the global tourism industry. Over 17,000 Chinese tourists visited Albania in 2018. The figure shows a 60 percent increase compared to 2017. These figures and much more were announced during a recent seminar about economic and trade cooperation between Albania and China on the joint construction of ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.
Albania and China signed in 2017 the joint statement on cooperation on the construction of ‘One Belt, One Road initiative. The Chinese Embassy confirms that both countries have further expanded cooperation in the trade-economy, culture, education, healthcare, HR, and many other sectors.
The trade volume between both countries increased during the recent years. Meanwhile, the Chinese foreign direct investment to Albania are over 800 million US dollars. Currently, Chinese companies are operating in essential sectors such as air transport through Tirana International Airport and the oil industry through Bankers Petroleum.
Charge D’affaires at the Embassy of China to Tirana Bai Yunbin expressed his hopes that Albania and China seize the opportunity to further encourage the development of economic and trade cooperation.
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Albania and China. Several events are expected to take place on the occasion.
