Albania’s and Kosovo Ministers of Agriculture met in Tirana and held a joint press conference to announce the latest joint projects between the two countries in the agriculture field. The two Ministers vowed to undertake concrete measures in implementing the signed agreement which will provide free movement of agricultural products in both countries.
“We agreed in ending the bureaucracies and the unnecessary barriers that we have notices in regard to flour trade among Albanian and Kosovo traders. Our good will to improve our trade relations will be showed by increasing our efforts to have more Albanian value added products in Kosovo markets,” declared the Albanian Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti.
The Albanian Minister also praised the support shown to the Albanian government by his Kosovar counterpart Memli Krasniqi. The Kosovar Ministry of Agriculture has given Albania the “exclusive status” which has reduced the bureaucracies for the entering of Albanian agriculture exports to Kosovo’s markets.
In turn, Kosovar Minister of Agriculture stressed the fact that trade exchanges between Albania and Kosovo have increased by 50% during this year, compared to the year we left. “We need to unify our standards, certifications and all the documentation which serves to ease the trade between the two countries,” declared Krasniqi.
