A latest report by Bank of Albania shows that during the first semiannual of this year lending in ALL for individuals increased to 50.2% of the total while lending in foreign currency decreased to 49.8% of the total. In annual terms, lending to individuals by private banks increased by 2.51% during the first semiannual of 2015.
The report shows that the increase of lending has been affected by the increase of lending in Albanian Lek by 8.9% while lending in foreign currency decreased by 3.2%. In addition, the difference between the average interests of loans in ALL and EUR have narrowed significantly. This has been one of the main effects in the increase of lending in ALL by individuals.
According to the official figures as shown in the report, the average interest rate of new loans in ALL for the first 9 months of 2015 was 8.2% in comparison to 8.8% in the same period of 2014.
