If some years ago, Albanians would buy online only in EBay and at a limited amount or just s small number of individuals and businesses, this buying method has now become a trend in country. The Albanian Postal Service published the annual report of institution’s performance, declaring that online purchases increased tremendously in the last years, which in past year reflected in the realization of Post’s annual revenue plan by 110%.
Online purchases increased by 55.8% during 2014, announced Albanian Postal Service in their annual report for 2014 performance. “The increase of workflow in Albania’s Post Service has come due to the increase of online purchases by Albanian individuals but mostly from businesses. Online purchases comprise about 60% of the total of packages. During 2010-2012 period, the number of online buying has been at low levels, approximately 57 000 packages in 2010,” is cited in an Albania Post Service analysis.
Businesses are aware that online buying of a huge amount of products reduces significantly their operational costs and time, and they have started to trust on products bought online. The biggest traders, according to the report are stores in China, Taiwan and Singapore since they offer free shipping option and products with low prices.
