The Albanian bio products have restarted to export towards Macedonia after disrupting this activity by the Macedonian authorities, which claimed that Albanian vegetables had chemical contaminants.
Three days ago, the Macedonian officials at the Albania – Macedonia border prohibited that the vans with Albanian vegetables to cross the border.
Today, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that Albanian products resulted of high quality after the tests. “The conducted tests were complex and exclude the presence of chemical or biological polluters. The new traceability system starts the control of products’ quality since while they are in greenhouses and fields.”
Ministry officials added that the organic production of vegetables will be a priority in the country. On june 3rd, the Macedonian authorities at the border confiscated vegetables which were destined for export, causing a confusion which resolved after the tests.
