Christian Canacaris is the new Chairman of Albanian Association of Banks, elected at the latest meeting by the Assembly of Members, for a two year mandate. Until now, the Albanian Association of Banks has been directed for some years by Seyhan Pencabligil, General Director of BKT, one of the most successful private banks in Albania.
Canacaris currently holds the position of the General Director at Raiffeisen Bank, the biggest bank in Albania, since October 2010. With a long career in treasury and capital markets fields in Central and Eastern Europe, Canacaris became part of Raiffeisen Bank staff in 2004, when started working as a Board Member for Treasury, Investments and Capital Markets.
After the election, Canacaris thanked AAB members and appreciated the work done by the previous General Director, Seyhan Pencabligil.
Christian Canacaris holds a degree in European Studies by the University of Paris, Pantheon-Sorbonne in main subjects: Finance, Macro-microeconomics, Corporate Finance, and European Law. He also holds a Masters in Econometrics, Mathematics and Statistics.
