Albania will no longer be in the list of places monitored for money laundering and terrorism financing. The news announced after the publication of a report by Onsite Team of International Country Risk Guide, which approved in the last session of ICRG in Paris on February 24-25.
The one year work for the conduction of the report shows that Albania has completed all the gaps reported by Financial Action Task Force, which monitors the implementation of measures against money laundering and terrorism financing by states. As written in the report, member countries of this group have evaluated the efforts of Albania in this direction.
According to it, “the implementation of reforms has been fully supported by the government whose representatives have shown a strong commitment in fulfilling their obligations in financial and legal sectors, by reflecting deep knowledge and a good will in meeting the set requirements.”
International Country Risk Guide and Financial Action Task Force are prestigious international organizations which analyze the performance of countries in this regard. After the publication of report’s results, these organizations decided to exclude Albania from the list of countries under continuous monitoring for money laundering and terrorism.
The serious engagement of the Albanian government in meeting high standards in legal and financial sectors has improved country’s performance by transforming it into a more reliable country for foreign investments.
