Investments in agriculture and agribusiness were the key meeting points discussed in an official meeting between the Head of Albanian Council of Agrobusiness, Enver Ferizaj, the Turkish ambassador in Albania, Hidayet Bayraktar and the Turkish commercial attaché, Muharrem Can.
The Turkish ambassador required from Albanian Council of Agrobusiness to identify the problematic of the current economic relations between Albania and Turkey. The main reason of this meeting, according to him, is the increase of Albanian exports to Turkey and vice versa. The ambassador also required the creation of joint work groups in the agriculture field and the intensification of collaboration between the two countries.
An additional point of the discussion was the set of a schedule for joint fairs regarding agriculture and the increase of the Albania presence in fairs organized in Turkey.
The head of Albanian Council of Agrobusiness expressed his satisfaction and the willingness of Albania to strengthen the economic relations with Turkey. The two higher officials signed an agreement for the increase of exports between Albania and Bursa city. “The new agreement signed between Albania and Bursa (Izmir) is a novelty in the concretization of the Albania-Turkey collaboration”, said Ferizaj.
With a population of more than 2,500,000, Bursa is the fourth largest city in Turkey after Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
