“Our prayers and thoughts have been with our good Greek neighbors and the Albanians living in Greece. These last days have been extremely unfortunate and we hope that our modest financial contribution can be of help in these difficult times. #PrayForGreece.” This was the official statement of the Albanian government on Wednesday.
The Council of Minister approved a donation of €100,000 as a sign of solidarity. Wildfires in near the Greek capital, Athens that ripped through a coastal area have killed at least 80 people, while many are missing, Reuters confirms.
In the meantime, the Albanian Embassy to Athens confirms that an Albanian citizen, member of the Greek Minority was seriously injured and he’s currently under health care at Evangelismos hospital.
