TIRANA, March 7
Albania and Serbia will start a joint working process on the unification and harmonization of all certificates for the trade of products of animal or plant origin. This was agreed during a meeting between representatives of Albanian and Serbian authorities. The Albanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Niko Peleshi praised the meeting as an important event in terms of the good cooperation climate between both countries. According to Peleshi, there a lot of potential in the markets of Albania and Serbia, especially for agricultural products, for further cooperation.
On his part, the Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, Branislav Nedimovic expressed commitment to continuing the process at a fast pace. Moreover, discussions focused on exchanging experience on the cultivation of traditional products.
Exports to Serbia increased by 27.8 percent during 2017. The group of products that had an impact on exports growth was vegetables.
