The members of the Kosovo’s parliamentary Commission for Economic Development, Infrastructure, Trade and Industry held an official visit at the Albanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, in Tirana capital. Kosovo high officials were welcomed in a meeting by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto which evaluated the so-far cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport.
Haxhinasto stressed the inclusion of the Albania – Kosovo “National Road” in the European road map as part of the main road network. According to the Minister, the two countries should focus in increasing the volume of trade exchanges in the National Road and in Albanian main ports, by eliminating the barriers in bordering points. At the meeting, the officials discussed about joint priority infrastructure projects as the Albania – Kosovo railway, the road standards and road tolls.
As for the head of the Kosovo parliamentary Commission of Economy, Muhamet Mustafa, the two countries must intensify relations not only in the field of infrastructure but also between the two parliaments. “We must show commitment for joint works in order to give investments the necessary value,” according to Mustafa.
