The Institute of Statistics has released the latest data on Albania’s trade exchanges activity with European Union countries which highlights the shrunk of trade exchanges with Greece, Albania’s traditional trade partner.
According to statistics, during January – October 2015 trade exchanges with Greece comprised about 5.9% of the total of trade exchanges, decreasing compared to the level of trade exchanges during 2014. The report says Greek imports to Albania decreased to ALL 35,643 million from ALL 44,037 million during 2014. Most of the Greek imports are “food, beverages and tobacco” products, “chemical and plastic products and “minerals, fuel and electrical energy”.
In the other hand, Albania’s exports towards Greece’s markets have increased slightly. During January – October 2015 period, exports reached the value of ALL 7,758 million while during at the same period of 2014 exports were estimated at the value of ALL 7,418 million.
