Over 20,000 Albanians living in Germany and German citizens that live and work between both countries will benefit the right of pension, health and social care. Albania and Germany have exchanged the instruments on the ratification of the reciprocal social security agreement. The agreement will enter into force with effect from December 1st, 2017.
Ambassador of Albania in Germany Artur Kuko signed on Tuesday, the agreement that will regulate the export of pension insurance-related benefits for Albanian and German citizens.
This was confirmed by Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati in a Facebook post update.
โAmbassador Kuko signed the social security agreement, which includes health insurance, parental leave, accident insurance, occupational diseases, etc,โ Bushati highlighted among others.
Negotiations on this agreement started years ago.
