On Friday, November 6th, the Albanian government emitted a EUR 450 million Eurobond in the international markets with an interest rate of 5.75%, according to the Ministry of Finances. The emitting procedures were managed by Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan, both contracted by the government to assist this process.
On October, the Minister of Finances Shkelqim Cani announced the establishment of a team of experts which lobbied to investors in several European countries. This campaign resulted successful since more than 115 investors expressed interest to buy Eurobonds from Albania.
The emitting of the new Eurobond comes a few days after the Ministry of Finances announced that the government redeemed the previous EUR 300 ml Eurobond, emitted in 2010 at an interest rate of 7.5%.
